Pulled my Tait programmer out of storage after a long time, and using Lin= ux=20 w/PP-0.6 (as I always have), but on a laptop now. The PP SW has a debug = mode=20 that toggles each line manually, and it all works fine (I've verified w/a= =20 logic probe), so I trust the programmer is fine. However, when I try to program a chip, I get an error stating that the PI= C is=20 protected and needs to be erased. I run the erase command (which does no= t=20 have much output by design), then re-run the programmer and still get the= =20 same error. I've tried this on 2 brand spanking new PIC16F872's w/the sa= me=20 results. I've verified everything including environment variables, wire connection= s,=20 etc and using the same power-supply that I always have -- it's an old=20 AT-style PS, from which I use the 12V and 5V lines. But this has always=20 worked for me, so I'm trying to put that as a potential problem. Anyone have any other thoughts on this?
