I like what HSW are doing in the way of simple effective animations,
eg "Click Here to detonate" to see the sequence of events. (Old)

ISTR from a documentary that the diameter of the images in the
photos is just a few feet. I guess trying to get it symmetrical, and
all that implies, is one reason for all the tests

What I was actually looking up, but got side-tracked from, was How
Machine Guns Work (not making one, but interested in how a blow-
back system works)  The trigger-activated animations are very well
done
