I did in fact check out the web page at the time (early March).

Why are you carping at me? How was I meant to know that it was out of date?
The fact that it had a note dated January 2003 regarding the GPL status
(which jibed with my knowledge from this list) led me to believe that it
was fairly up-to-date.

If there's a different page you want people to visit, you should:
a) put a link in the page referenced in the article <http://www.voti.nl/jal/>
b) write a "letter to the editor" of CCI to bring this to the attention of
   our readers
