Without any equipment mastering the bus? Any slave can send packet when the bus is free? It sounds pretty inetresting for me 'cause I solve something like this but by another stuff. The RS-485 "standard" neither requires nor disallows packets. It is an electrical spec only, and leaves the protocol up to the implementor. One RS-485 system I designed did in fact use packets. ***************************************************************** Embed Inc, embedded system specialists in Littleton Massachusetts (978) 742-9014, http://www.embedinc.com -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
