WAAS does not require any additional equipment on the GPS, if it is a WAAS-enabled unit. It DOES require that the satellite(s) transmitting the WAAS signals be visible to the GPS. I use my GPS76 on Lake Ontario, and it has no problems getting the WAAS signal.
