Generally, an "octaving" circuit is one that changes the input frequency by one or more octaves, up or down. A "Wah" effect is either a bandpass or very resonant low-pass filter with input pedal that sweeps the frequency. Chorus, Flanging, and Phaser are similar effects, I think, that only slightly change (and vary) the frequency and combine with the original signal. Inputs generally are shape, frequency, and depth. For large-scale pitch changing with inputs indicating pitch, you may want to look for a "whammy" guitar effect. Good Luck! --- "Gary L.
