I have tried the suggestions offered, and so far, no luck=2E
More details were requested:
I am trying to run the VB app included in the source for AN247=2E
The source is available at:

I have tried running it at home on a WIN98SE machine, and also at work
on a Win2K machine=2E Both have Visual C++ V6 installed=2E (Along with visual
studio 6, of course)

In both cases, I get a polite "bing" and nothing else=2E No window, no error
message no indication of what might have failed=2E I also tried running from
an MSDos command shell, hoping for an error message=2E No luck=2E(If there is an
error message, I don't know where to look for it)

Reading further from the Microsoft website, I found that VB programs that use
ActiveX controls may need more support files on the target machine than usual=2E
According to the app note, this program is using ActiveX=2E This may be the probl=
em=2E

We have a programmer that uses VisualBasic in one of our Ohio offices=2E
I think I'll write him an E-Mail and see if he can sort this out=2E

Even if I can't get the PC side working, the rest of the package is worthwhile
for me=2E Having learned in "C" on a _very_ different platform, I get a bit frust=
rated
when I can't get a simple application to run in windows=2E I am not very adept at
the Windows way of doing things=2E (Nor is windows very good at doing things my w=
ay!)
