Whilst I'm not a grammar nut, I've never really understood why someone would
dispense with the standard formalities of writing just because it's an email
rather than a hand written letter.  It conveys a much better impression to
other people if a little bit of effort is spent writing something correctly.
The extra effort involved in pressing the shift key or the period key
occasionally isn't huge really.
