Does anyone have recommandations? > > Thank you in advance, > Tony > You have a few choices.. Are you designing a transmitter, receiver, or both? Are you using a specific remote, or any off the shelf multi-remote? Are you trying to control existing equipment, or are you building from scratch? I can offer a few leads.. There are a lot of examples on the web for decoding a specific brand of remote. I've seen mostly RC5 and Sony in my own searches. There is an excellent page on various remote protocols and how to decode them provided by Wagner at www.ustr.net Wagner is a regular here on the piclist. There was a project in Nuts&Volts February 1998 that used a PIC to create a "trainable" remote reciever. The author was Terry Weeder. While it uses an older PIC for the purpose, the source is probably available from the N&V website. I am using one of these in a project now, and it works well. If you're building both ends from scratch, you might search for a matched chipset. I am currently trying to write a "nearly" universal IR encoder/decoder for a home automation project. It's not yet far enough along to be useful to you though. Good Luck, Lyle Hazelwood -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
