Doug I have had two community repeater controllers (two-way radio) go down because of EPROMS loosing data and when I contacted the company they didnt have the exact version that was in my EPROM. They had made many changes over the years(1974 vintage) and some changes were not documented or files kept(so they say). They want $250 to have me send it back in now and rewrite and update the unit. I think I am going to just redesign it myself using a pic. I have since started to put EPROM data on CD when I find them. EPROM datasheets from the mid 1970's give a data retention life of 25 years. I have a HP1631 logic analyser that is currently running fine but is over 20 years old. Should I worry about it losing its program? Would it be worth removing the EPROMS and making archive copies of their contents?
