I don't trust this one either. It has a double-seal but you never know. besides we're talking about acid after all... Oh, and a sidenote: The thermostat on this thing wendt all the way up to 55*C !!! This is great! > > The problem is Norway, where I live, is very expensive... > > The one you mentioned would cost me $67 after going through Norwegian > > customs. > Ouch. Is it import duties that causes it? No, there's no duties, only tax and taxation-fees. I(Atleast I think there's no duties on such equipment.) > In other news the special two part acrylic glue has arrived and I'm > going to try using it to glue the tank back together tonight. We are doing the exact same thing... I just finished gluing my tank back together after the silicone was turned to chalk by the acid. I used a 1 part acrylic glue that dissolves the acrylic and lets it harden again. I hope it isn't cyanoacrylate, as you've tried that. It says "methyl methacrylate" on the tube and it's called AcriFix. It makes 100% transparent bonds that are supposed to be just as strong as the lexan i'm gluing. I've just finished putting together my little lightbox now. I got 3x9w tubes and transformers with buildt in starters for free! So the box hasn't cost me a thing as I already had the glass. I will be upping the tubes from 9w to 11w to shorten exposure time. It is now at about 12 minutes. Happy etching everyone!
