I got a Rena Cal 300W submersible thermostatic heater for #13.99 (about
22USD) from here: http://tinyurl.com/8o0i

It does have a limiting stop on the thermostat knob but you just need to
pull the cap open, cut the plastic stop off, and clip it back together.
It is quite long though- it wouldn't suit a tank with an etchant level
less than about 10" deep.
