I am having trouble programming using MPLAB and PICSTART.

I am using Version 6.13 of MPLAB and Version 3.3 (updated about 3 weeks =
ago) of the PICSTART firmware.

At first it seemed to be a problem with the "A" version but I cannot get =
the original 876 programmed either.

The sequence used is

Select PICSTART PLUS as programmer
Enable programmer
Select device PIC16F876 or PIC16F876A
Open Program Window
Load Hex file
Set configuration bits (it seems MPLAB does not read the config bits =
properly from the hex file or the device)
Program.

Anyone had problems programming using the new version of MPLAB or the =
PIC16F876A ?
