Tyvek is available in "medium" quantities from some kite building suppliers.
There are two types available:  "soft" tyvek feels like cloth, and made
something of a fashion statement in windbreakers a couple years ago (also
in "clean room" wear.)  "hard" tyvek is what's used for envelopes and
wrapping houses.  Most kite places carry only the "soft" variety, but
I'm pretty sure I've seen both.  Somewhere.  About $3/yard for 40inch wide
"fabric."
