Thanks for the information regarding the micro-engineering bootloader. I = have ordered the software and should receive it shortly. I am now also having problems getting MPLAB (Version 6.10.0.0) to = program a target PIC16F876A. I am using PICSTART PLUS with an adaptor = that takes a cable out to the ICSP socket on my target. It worked fine = for PIC16F876 but not the "A" version. I have modified the __CONFIG line as suggested in Microchips migration = to the A part. I have also changed the LIST and Include to PIC16F876A.=20 The new interface looks good but still it is difficult to determine = which opened code is currently being programmed. When you click View-> Program Memory, and then import the HEX file, it = seems to open a new window for each instance and not show which is = currently programming. Also, the Configuration bit settings and device type never change to = reflect the settings in the hex file, you seem to have to change them = manually. As a consequence, I am looking for alternate programmer hardware and = Windows software to enable programming of the PIC16F876A parts.=20 Thanks for your recommendations. (or help getting MPLAB and PICSTART = performing correctly). -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline? Don't AutoReply us! email listserv@mitvma.mit.edu with SET PICList DIGEST in the body
