I use the 9XStream module. Works as advertised. I can get 7 miles easily
with my 1/2 wave dipole antenna, but antenna alignment is critical at the
longer ranges. With a pair of super high gain yagi's, I'll bet you could
easily get 40+ miles. Of course, it depends on the environment.
I use mine in a sailplane transmitting to a ground station, so LOS is easy,
and there are no obstructions (buildings, powerlines, etc. to break up the
signal.
