I'm troubleshooting a circuit. I place a PIC (F84A) in the circuit with PORTA and PORTB both set as = outputs, and all HI.. I measure some pins (with DMM) and I see some pins = are HI (as expected) and some pins are LO.. I then set allpins LO, and replace the PIC in the circuit.. I find some = pins are HI, and some are LO.. I then remove the PIC and power up the circuit... Some pins are HI, some are LO Questions, I have lines tied HI with 1K resistors - I should be able to measure the = swing on the line at the PIC pins? Ditto with 100K resistors? HOW sensitive are PICs to static damage? I currently touch the back of the = PCB when pressing the F84 into the socket. FWIW, I have built a bare board (nothing but connections for OSC (crystal) = MCLR, Vcc and Vss... the same PIC in the this board still shows some pins = HI and LO at the same time, instead of all HI, or all LO as per the = programming. I HATE troubleshooting cirucits.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Des -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you. See http://www.piclist.com/#topics
