Tony, I have generated a couple of fonts and they can take up a lot of code space. 5 x 7 is quite compact but I have a 10x16 which is around 2K. Also created a Rockwell style font at 16 x 32 which takes 80 bytes per character, I only did 0 - 9. They are stored in EEPROM as it is easy to recover, also it is efficient use of space as it is 8 bit data. Take a look at www.mdm1.bravepages.com and follow link to DMX973B, written in JAL and C. There is a character generator on Piclist from Nikolai Golovchenko.
