Assorted websites, email lists, RFCs, and (earlier) vendors or magazines
have been known to publish "joke" "new product" information for April Fools
day (1-Apr.)  Famous exambles have been the "Write only memory" and the
"Dark Emitting Diode."  I perpetrated a few cisco-related announcements
myself, back when we didn't take ourselves so seriously.  Even hooked a
couple overly credible readers :-)
