Hello all,

I am trying to figure out if the TPI 440 is a decent portable oscilloscope.
Basically, I'm kind-of a novice, and I am beginning to need an oscilloscope.
I don't think that a desktop/stationary would really suit my needs as well
as a portable unit (many trips to the lab @ my college, with my car, etc...)

To get to the point, I have looked for a while, and this unit:

seems to be one of the best values available, and I was wondering if anyone
has any opinons.  For example, is there a better one in the price range?  Is
this something that I should avoid?  Is there a compelling reason that I
should re-consider and look at desk-top units?
