Anything that starts out with forward differencing should do well.  This is
common in image file compression because of the high correlation between
adjacent pixels.  It may not be such a good strategy for arbitrary data
files because these may be more likely to have the same fixed values appear
often.  However, any decent compression scheme should be able to do at least
2:1 because there are only 10 different bytes in the whole file.
