How long of a wire is it safe to send servo signals?

Since the signal is 0-5Vdc and the pulse widths are in mSecs, would 5 or =
6 feet be safe from a pic or atmel I/O pin. I don't know what the =
impeadance of the servo signal input is, but it is a small Futaba S28 =
hobby servo.
