Hi Bill The problem is not downloading firmware to the Promate. I get comms with the Promate and can do blank check and so. It is when I try and download the program file, it gets to about 070 and then just hangs. Then, just try to enable the programmer to verify that you are communicating to it. When you go to download, make sure that the Promate is powered up WHILE holding down the F1 and F3 keys until the unit says Ready for Download. Then you are ready to download the new code to the Promate. I am running MPlab on a P4 using Windows2000. Set-up the port according to the help info (19200, 8bit, 1stop, hardware flow-control, fifo off) I keep on getting a "Can not transmit" message when I try and download to the Promate. Have been using the Pic Start and this works fine. Have any of you got some idea how to solve this problem? Thanks Thys -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
