What are some common heat sink compounds that I can find in stores? Are there different grades that I should be looking at? What characteristics are typically associated with these compounds. And as for the regulator, I don't need a linear one, but it's all I know how to work with. Fortunately, the MAX787 is a nice +5V SMPS regulator that was easy for me to implement, so I used that for my +5 side... I couldn't find anything for +12V tho.
