shure.
with a max232 chip or similar, you can send data from the pic  according
to the rs232/v24 standard to the pc's serial port.
but there's some work to do on the pc to gather these data (or just use a
terminal program to get the data into the pc)

Hi all
Is it possible (theoretically or practically) to pass data gathered by a
PIC (a2d values written to external eeprom) to a desktop PC then process
the data recived into a format acceptable for excel ie space/tab seperated
text files. I think that it should be possible via a serial cable ?
i do not have to produce the working circuit but i have to make sure the
idea is correct.
