Li-Ion are really only used where weight and power > density are key factors. ALSO - do watch longevity - read the several faqs and descriptions of Li-Ions of late. I think their life can be high flying but short in terms of numbers of cycles. Lead acid isn't wonderful but may be better. For long life and utter ruggedness Nickel-Iron were excellent (this observation based on some very large ones we had at school many moons ago). Energy density may be another matter.
