Hi All, I have a project that needs to interface a number of PCs to a LAN (running NT). Each PC is actually used as a data logger that will acquire some physical data from some sensors. The simpliest way to do is to install into each PC a data acquistion card, write a program to keep reading the DAS card and send the data over the LAN (to a destination server), but this solution is too expensive as I need about 8 to 9 PCs, also, I'm just using the PC to do some very simple and non time-critical task, what a waste! I'm thinking of using PIC (or other microcontroller) to replace the PCs, which will make big saving. However, the major problem is how to interface each PIC to the LAN. Could someone give me a pointer? Thanks in advance!
