Hmm.. my PICSTART Plus (3.10.00) shows 0xFFFFFFFF for the device ID.
But the checksum is 02D8. Both on the 18F252 and F452 samples
I tried (three virgin chips direct from uChip).

But (RTFM and all that: DS39564A-page 200), I see you're right,-it's
certainly *supposed* to have the revision number. 8-(
