Hello, I'm quite new to PIC programming and IC electronics. Can anyone suggest a good alternative to the GI SP0256-AL2 8-bit Speech Processor? As any of the more recent 8-bit Speech Synthesisers I have found are largely overkill for my needs (and are often designed for surface-mounting), as this is for part of my university final year project. The SP0256 also has the benefit of providing most of the component phoneme combinations I need within the datasheet (as I need to produce the date, month and year). The reason I ask is that SP0256-AL2 chips are proving quite hard to source (unless I start ripping apart old toys), plus I was wondering if there was a more up-to-date version or variation in a similar package format. -- Thanks, and all the best, Glenn Davidson -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
