Nice page! Re the SOIC solder bridging try putting
the paste line further out towards the leg tips, not
the middle of the pads as your picture. And maybe
change the pads so that they dont extend inside
as far (under) the leg and it avoids that "Y" effect
that sucks the wet solder in towards the chip armpit.
