I would settle for Schmitt trigger inputs with thresholds that vary a bit from batch to batch, say as good as a 4093, 40106 or 74HC14, etc. (despite the recent discussions on manufacturer variances). Would make it so much nicer for handling "noisy" real world inputs and analog like signals.
