As far as I understand from this thread some guys are surprised when chips from different manufacturers behave different when used outside their specs and/or when depending on parameters that are not guaranteed by the specs. I guess these are the same guys that insist that biasing the protection diodes of a PIC in an R-only RS-232 receive circuit is OK and that a PC will receive 0..5V RS-232 OK?
