Olin - I don't use Outlook or Outlook Express but was wondering: does your email client have a technique to manually add the "> " to the front of the quoted lines? The reason I ask is that I thought that capability was standard on all email clients. Personally, I do the selection, reformatting, and "quoting" of the mail I'm responding to all manually (with some editor macro help, sometimes), and consider it to be part of the "discipline" of answering email. If this isn't worth doing, perhaps either the message or my response is unimportant. But then my email setup is rather anachronistic anyway, and I'm not an expert or frequent responder to esoteric PIC questions (except perhaps when they touch on a larger philosophical issue :-) Of course, this is exactly Olin's point; if you want quick and accurate responses, for free, from net-experts, perhaps you SHOULD make replying to your message as convenient as possible. Olin has strong opinions about what that means for HIS mail clients, others are less constrained. So it makes sense to aim for the format that the people complaining are asking for. At least if those are people who tend to give good answers to questions... BillW -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
