Hi Andre, Here are some questions I have and some troubleshooting techniques. Questions: Which operating system are you using? This is helpful for diagnosing the problem. How old is the hard drive. I once had a drive that had this problem until it started smoking... When I returned the drive, the manufacturer took it apart and found a defect in the drive. How much RAM do you have on your machine. If it is low, the hard drive may be used a lot for swap space? Troubleshooting Techniques: I like shutting down each process manually to see if the problem will stop. Also, if you're using Win NT, 2000, or XP, try shutting down the services on your machine to see if the spinning will stop. Also, when you're using these operating systems you can check the Event log to see if there is anything abnormal in there.
