Hey- I'm a beginner too, but I've been looking at the Seiko Character LCDs .. they range from $11-$23 so they aren't THAT expensive. I saw them in the Mouser catalog (just look in there, I think it's the only brand of LCD they sell). From their datasheet it doesn't look difficult to interface with but it requires alot of pins. (Of course, I was planning on using a shift register so I could use less pins) -R -----Original Message----- From: pic microcontroller discussion list [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of Joe Smith Sent: Wednesday, January 22, 2003 4:48 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: [PIC] Beginner LCD Can anyone recommend a some what inexpensive LCD for a beginner to interface to a PIC16F8A? Also anyone have any suggestions for getting an EPIC programmer from ME Labs to work with MPLAB 6.10? Is this even possible? I have checked google but I haven't found much.
