If you're using PICC (which I assume you are, because I had this same problem), go to the PICC lite download page and at the bottom there is a patch to fix this problem. You will get a zip file, containing the PICC compiler and linker executables, and then you need to manually replace the existing files in the \bin folder of your PICC installation.
