Try a company called Albright they do small to large single pole
contactors from 40 A to 1000A reted up to 96V DC various coil voltages

I need to switch 48VDC, 12A to a load.  This won't be fast switching,
just basically supply power to some DC/DC modules.

So choices are relays (that I've always used for such an application) or
maybe a FET of some sort? Or IGBT?
