Aaron, I just went through this the other day. You CAN use a series xtal - the frequency may be off a bit. However, Digikey does sell parallel xtals - I just ordered some from their on-line catalog. The X439-ND is a 20 pf parallel xtal at 20 mHz The X405-ND is a 20 pf parallel xtal at 4 mHz See page 560 of their on-line catalog.
