(Officially its a virtual ground but is also commonly used as a voltage
reference. If you want a different voltage, use an opamp on the output.)

but what kind of devices do you use to get say, a 2 vdc
precise source?

is it a 3 pin device, like the 7805?

I need a part number here, I want to stick this in an open
spot on my pcb
