Hey- I'm relatively new to this list and EE stuff in general. I have alot of "book" knowledge but not much practical knowledge of designing and building circuits. However, I have a question about sensors. Basically, I'm looking for something to generate random data. I was thinking about using a Magnetic Flux Gate though I haven't been able to find good data about it. I would think that if I amplified the resulting signal from the flux gate, I could get a fairly sensitive reading of the magnetic field of the earth (isn't that what flux gates are used for?). If this was moving as a result of the data from the flux gate, one could assume that you would get a basically random data from the flux gate. Does anyone have any other thoughts about how to get random data from the outside world (it's important that it comes from the outside and not from a PRNG).
