Another video unit like a VCR (which would choke on the macrovision). The DVD maker believed the Macrovision promise that ALL TV's could handle Macrovision. That has proven to be a completely WRONG assumption. The only way to stop this 'problem' is to make your opinion known. In other words, return all Macrovision encoded materials to their sources. After all, you can't view the content, let alone copy it. You didn't get what you'd paid for, so return it! If you can find an old Beta recorder, you can probably (depends on model) use it to minimize the Macrovision effects. Beta units use the sync amplitude to set the video gain, and the output clips the 2V Macrovision pulses down to a lower level (at least my old Sony did ).
