I checked and see you're not using PortA for the LEDs, my bad,
so it wasn't strictly necessary to change ADCON1 anyway -
however IMHO it's still a good idea to always include it in with
the TRIS statements, and the way you had it was addressing
ADCON0

5V and 0V OK at the PIC ?

RC connected and it's working ?

LEDs the right way around ?

Current limiting resistor value ?

I'd go for much less than 100k on MCLR, 10k or less. Manual
recommends < 40k. It's possible your PIC is in reset
