Not all movies are macrovisioned... and as I understand it, not even entire movies are maimed. But if you try taping sections of the movie, especially those that are exibiting the behaviour, it should be VERY apparent. Video is almost unwatchable when macrovision is working. (or so I hear ;-) If the video shows evidence of macrovision in exactly the same places as your direct viewing shows problems, then I would surmise it is the macrovision screwing up your TV.
