I'm chasing a pulse encoder that has 50 pulses per rev. It has to be as
small as possible. I've pulled apart a few mouses but the encoder wheels
have been either 24 pulse or 60 pulse.

Does anyone know where I could get a 50 pulse encoder or wheel? To pull one
out of an old piece of equipment would be the go (free). Has anyone seen a
mouse come with a 50 pulse wheel?

Would it be viable to print an image of the wheel onto a transparency and
then fix that to a piece of perspex?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
