    this is what I thought, --it's a scooter, and if scooters were going to
    catch on, they would have by now...

And *he* said: Scooters HAVE caught on in some places.  I suppose that it's
largely a matter of infrastructure (and climate.)  Those areas that are
especially "friendly" to casual bicycling and walking (ie have sidewalks and
paths and etc that exclude cars, and have predictable weather) are likely to
see some success of the Segway.  Other areas it would probably be a
disaster...

I like the technolgy applied to wheelchairs a lot better, and hope that
makes it to market...
