The Left? What the h*ll is the Left? Anyway, I live in Southern California and there are TONS of scooters being used here. From the push kind to the electric kind to the 2-stroke kind. And people *are* using them to commute. Somebody likes the idea, but obviously not you. The Segway is tres $$$, but that's the price for the gyro technology I guess. I saw a Segway on the street in Santa Monica, but was unable to run the guy down to chat him up ;). The lines at COMDEX for the Segway booth were HUGE. Last I heard, bicycles were popular too (weather permitting). Regardless of the solution, there is a need for personal transportation that comes in at less than 2000lbs per passenger.
