> In section 3 of 30277C.pdf (ICSP, Programming Specification) > ICSP for PIC16F62X in 2.2 ID locations there is interesting > text: Cheers, that's a pretty comprehensive document with better information on ID locations. Some of it is starting to make sense now. For one thing, MPLAB's help seems to be wrong. After a read you cannot examine ID locations by viewing Program Memory because the addressing simply doesn't go that high. The read ID does appear in the Configure/ID Memory dialogue, although I've still to sort out the scrambling due to protection status of the checksum. That info is in the ICSP pdf, but I've yet to read it thoroughly. Some reference could/should have been made to it in the basic manual, but you know, gripe gripe gripe ;-) Even though Microchip encourage people to submit suggestions to the manuals they are never perfect. Errors do get corrected but then something that was OK gets botched. It's almost like they've got a quota ;-) -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The PICList is archived three different ways.
