Now...thats what we need for all cars...think of it.  You are driving
    along and the guy in front of you slows down...for whatever reason.
    Computer then gives you a choice of change lanes...if its clear, or it
    will automatically slow you down....so you don't rear end them.

    Hmmm....should I patent it first?

I'm pretty sure you're too late.  "caravan driving" (with cars moving
faster and closer together than would normally be safe) has been one
of the advertised advantages of "smart road" type scenarios for quite
some time now...
