Some time back, (quite a few weeks) I messaged a problem I had with F876's programming OK, but not running. No one had any ideas at the time. And (as by law) the problem wasn't always apparent. I found the problem which may interest some people. Background: I was using two DonTronics DT001 programmer hardware boards - each connected to it's own port on the same PComputer. I was using P16PRO (Picall)as the programmer program. With this configuration I can write and program two PICs at once, which is absolutely fantastic when one is writing something which uses communication between the two PICs. (In this case, the uarts taking to each other over a readio link) Anywaaaayyyy, one of the things that happens is that P16PRO runs in one window only. You can't have two programs running separately, with a board for each one. If you try, PC16PRO just "diverts" to the one already running. (Like an Adobe Acrobat reader does.) To program one PIC, you change the PC port and burn. To burn the other PIC, load the program, change the PC port, and burn. That works faultlessy - except......... IF..... you load the PIC program into P16PRO, THEN change the port and burn, everything appears OK, it will even verify, but the PIC will not run! Select the PC port FIRST, then load the PIC program, then burn. I don't regard this as a "fault" or a failing by Bojan, it's just one of those things. I may be the only one on the planet to burn two PICS side by side, but there it is. As I said, when getting two PICS to relate to each other, it works really well.
