I agree that a printed datasheet is essential, but these things are big.
Microchip distributes printed copies in the format of a medium sized soft
cover book.  I would first try to get a printed copy from the local
Microchip office before resorting to printing my own.  The Microchip office
3 miles down the road from me has a closet where the stock just about every
data sheet in production.  I think hobbyists can get copies as long as they
are not greedy and ask the right way.
